CABLE POINT COMMUNITY POURS ENCOMIUMS ON OKOWA.
Cable Point Community, Asaba in Oshimili South Local Government Area, have commended the Governor of Delta State, Senator (|DR.) Ifeanyi Okowa for the dualization of Cable Point Road, describing the road project as the best thing to happen in their lives.
Speaking to our reporter, the councillor representing Ward 11 in Oshimili South Legislature, Hon. Chikelu Arinze, the Chairman, Cable Community, Mr. Papi Ogwudile, Hon. Emeka Chukwuji, the chairman, Cable Point market, Mr. Emmanuel Ilochi and the Youth Leader, Cable Dynamic Association, Mr. Eboh Felix, said that Governor Okowa, whom they described as a visionary leader and a listening governor, had put smiles on their faces with the road project.
According to them, the road had been in deplorable condition over the years begging for attention, expressing happiness that Governor Okowa had come to their rescue.
They pointed out that “this is the first time we are feeling the impact of government in Cable Point Community”, saying that the road project would no doubt open up the area and boost commercial activities.
“We have never had it so good. We can’t thank the governor enough. He is the people’s governor. He has wiped our tears with the road project. We pledge our unflinching and unalloyed support to the governor in his determination to bring ‘prosperity to all Deltans in line with the SMART Agenda”.
While also applauding the contractor handling the road project for quality Job, they, however appealed to the governor to prevail on the contactor to expand a section of the road from Cable Market to the River Niger, explaining that that section of the road was too narrow to allow two vehicles, especially articulated vehicles free and easy passage.
“We humbly appeal for the expansion of the road from Cable Market to the river. There are spaces that can accommodate the expansion. We also humbly appeal to our amiable and dynamic governor to visit the road project once again and see things for himself”.
While saying that Cable community would eternally remain grateful for the road project, they equally appealed for the extension of electricity (street light) to the River Niger, adding that by so doing, Cable Point community would become a reference point in the comity of communities in Delta State and beyond.
